2017`s Spider-Man won`t be an origins story
Good news everyone; you won’t have to watch a spider slowly make its way down towards an unsuspecting Peter Parker,hear about great power and great responsibility, or see Uncle Ben die again. The upcoming Spider-Man film in 2017 will not be an origins story, according to Latino Review.Thankfully, Spider-Man will exist from the beginning. But if they won’t do an origins story, what will they do? Latino Review’s sources claim that the first film in the franchise will see Spider-Man going toe-to-toe with Iron Man as an audition to join the Avengers roster.Drew Goddard will both write and direct the first film in the new series, which could be called Spectacular Spider-Man. He co-wrote his directorial debut Cabin in the Woods with Joss Whedon, so it makes sense that he would be pulled into this project.He was originally meant to direct the Sinister Six movie. That plan has been scrapped in the short term, but there is the possibility that Goddard will initiate the conflict with the Sinister Six here, so that a spin off could be on the cards in the future.The upcoming Spider-Man film will be released in 2017. There’s much to learn in the meantime, but as long as it’s not an origins story, we’re happy enough.
