Gillian Flynn`s Dark Places Movie Gets a Trailer

After thoroughly enjoying Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl I decided to check out the rest of her output to date. Her first novel, 2006's Sharp Object was a spiky treat but 2009's Dark Places just never grabbed me.

It lacks the twisted sense of humour of Gone Girl and never really gets into the story its trying to tell about a washed up woman trying to investigate the truth behind the murder of her entire family. So I can't say I was all that interested when I heard that the book was being adapted for the screen but a new medium means it could be improved upon, right?Well Dark Places certainly has a decent cast, including Charlize Theron in the lead role as well as Chloe Moretz, Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult and Corey Stoll. The film was written and directed byGilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah's Key, Pretty Things) and marks his second English language film. The first trailer is out and looks like this.

Dark Places debuts in France on the 8th of April 2015.
