Like many others, NVIDIA is hoping that this set top box will become the centrepiece of your living room. The NVIDIA Shield will sit next to your TV, giving you instant access to games, movies, YouTube videos, music, and other entertainment content.When the Shield launches, it will boast more than 50 titles, including Half-Life 2, Borderlands 2, Crysis 3, among others. The console is powered by Tegra X1, which Nvidia President Jen-Hsun Huang says makes it far more powerful than Apple TV and the Xbox 360.NVIDIA also announced that it will launch its own video game streaming service, the Netflix for games as it was announced. NVIDIA GRID will be capable of streaming games at up to 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. Users can subscribe to gain access to a library of games that will grow each week. GRID also gives users the opportunity to purchase and stream the latest AAA games.The NVIDIA Shield will be available from May, starting at $199 with a controller.
