Indie games get 15 minutes of fame during House of Cards
Monument Valley gets plenty of attention early in the recently released third season. Underwood plays the game in several scenes and even reads his colleagues a review. He later plays The Stanley Parable. They aren’t the only games highlighted during the season. Minecraft and PlayStation get name-dropped from time to time.This isn’t the first time that gaming has featured prominently in the series. Underwood previously revealed himself to be a fan of his PlayStation Vita and Call of Duty. We wonder what Underwood thinks of Spacey’s performance in Advanced Warfare.Monument Valley’s developer, ustwo games, explained on Twitter that the game’s appearance wasn’t a paid product placement. They wrote, “People have been asking, so we can confirm that Monument Valley appearing on House of Cards wasn't paid product placement, just a cool collaboration.” They then added, "Next goal is to get Monument Valley onto Game of Thrones. #braceyourselves".
