Shadowrun Online renamed as Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown
Managing Director of Cliffhanger, Jan Wagner, explained that different players had different expectations as to what the name Shadowrun Online meant. “Some gamers thought it meant we are doing a full-blown MMORPG with a persistent open world, others believed it meant we are doing a free to play browser title.” He went on to say that some people didn’t check out the game any further because they assumed that they would have to play it in multiplayer.Instead, Wagner said, the goal is to “tell stories and release new content evolving from the collective actions of our players. They will shape the way the future plot of Shadowrun develops, literally making history in the Shadowrun Universe.”Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown offers a campaign, which can be played solo or with up to three other people online in co-op. it also offers a live multiplayer hub where you can trade stories with other runners, and opportunities for PvP matches. Players can even take their offline friends’ characters into missions with them.Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown is set in Boston in 2076. A strange disease turns ordinary citizens into savage killers, prompting a lock down of the city. And apparently, this is only the beginning.Shadowrun Chronicles will be released on April 28th on PC and mobile devices.
