Shadow of Mordor is the Game of the Year at the Game Developers Choice Awards

Shadow of Mordor was really, really great. So great that its still earning 'best of 2014' awards some 3 months into the new twelvemonth.

Shadow of Mordor is the Game of the Year at the Game Developers Choice Awards

Yesterday at the annual Game Developers Choice Awards at GDC, the title won Game of the Year, deservedly earning a little more attention right at the last DLC piece arrives. The DLC has all been a bit forgettable unfortunately but if you missed out on the base game so far, you're in for a treat. Other winners on the night included the Audience Award for Elite: Dangerous, some Audio love for Alien: Isolation and a couple of nods for mobile title Monument Valley. Here's the full list.

  • Innovation Award:Monument Valley
  • Ambassador Award: Brenda Romero
  • Pioneer Award: David Braben
  • Lifetime Achievement: Hironobu Sakaguchi
  • Audience Award:Elite: Dangerous
