Medicom warning on software piracy

Medicom, the Irish healthcare ICT company, has issued a warning about the dangers of software piracy.

This follows the publication of the legal judgment in Medicom’s successful case against former employee Nigel Walsh, trading as Hard Data, who was last December found to have pirated and sold illegal copies of one of Medicom’s software packages.

Howard Beggs, Medicom CEO, said: “In publishing this legal judgment, Medicom wishes to highlight to Irish industry the very real dangers that exist around software piracy and the far-reaching damage that such criminal activity can cause.”
