Irish beef served for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Irish beef has been served in Vietnam for the first time after exporters secured tariff-free access to the market earlier this year.

The Southeast Asian country was identified as a priority growth market back in 2017. The country's expanding demand for imported beef, combined with a population of more than 100m consumers and a rapidly growing middle class, presents a strong long-term opportunity for Irish farmers and exporters. Beef consumption in Vietnam is forecast to grow by approximately 4.6% annually until 2028. Hotpot and Korean/Japanese barbecue restaurants are among the largest consumers of imported beef in Vietnam.
