Producer prices for dairy 22% higher than 2024, says CSO
The producer price for dairy products increased 22% last month compared to May 2024, according to the CSO's Wholesale Price Index data published on Monday.

Producer prices for food products increased by 6.3% in the 12 months to May 2025, with dairy produce the largest increase. Meat and meat product prices increased by 7.9% while prices for vegetables and animal oils and fats fell by 16.2%. & Fats (-16.2%).
Wholesale electricity prices fell by 2.3% in May 2025 but were 0.8% higher than May 2024.
Domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 0.9% higher in May 2025 compared with a year earlier, while producer prices for exported goods were down by 2%. Overall, manufacturing producer prices were 1.8% lower in the year.
Prices for chemicals and chemical products increased by 17.4%. Furniture prices rose by 3.6% Chemical Products (+17.4%), Furniture (+3.6%), Rubber & Plastic Products (-2.6%), and Mining & Quarrying (-2.6%).
Wholesale prices for construction products grew by 0.1% in the month to May 2025 and rose by 0.9% in the 12 months since May 2024.
