Mark Redmond is unveiled as new director general of IIEA

Institute of International and European Affairs appoints Ex-AmCham CEO as DG, succeeding interim DG, Dr Orlaigh Quinn

The Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) has appointed Mark Redmond as its director general, taking over from Dr Orlaigh Quinn, who served as interim director general since July.

Mr Redmond brings extensive leadership, particularly in membership organisations, policy, advocacy and organisational transformation experience to the role. He was CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland (AmCham Ireland), 2014-24 and CEO of the Irish Tax Institute, 2004-14.

The IIEA is an independent think tank dedicated to European and international affairs, serving as a forum for dialogue, research and analysis, bringing together policymakers, practitioners, academics and experts to explore issues of Irish, European and global importance.

Mark’s career has seen him engage with Taoisigh, Government Ministers, Ambassadors, European Commissioners, senior International political leaders, and policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic. He has led advocacy and policy engagement on major issues including transatlantic trade, data protection, international tax reform and Brexit.
