Limerick-based application support and cloud services provider Redfaire has secured a €13m investment as it plans to accelerate its international expansion.

Founded in 2003, Redfaire provides consulting, implementation, managed services, application support and cloud services across Oracle’s JD Edwards, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Fusion platforms. It has a team of 200 people with a customer base across Ireland, the UK, continental Europe as well as North America.

The minority investment is being provided by capital investor BGF.

“The investment will support Redfaire’s next phase of growth including international expansion, continued development of its Oracle Fusion practice and selective acquisitions to broaden its geographic reach and capabilities,” Redfaire said.

Redfaire chief executive and co-founder Brian McInerney said BGF’s investment was a “strong endorsement” of its work and team.

“Their backing allows us to accelerate international expansion, further enhance our Oracle Fusion capabilities, and broaden our reach and expertise. BGF is a partner that shares our long-term, growth-focused mindset, and we look forward to delivering for our customers and our people,” he said.

The investment follows Redfaire’s recent acquisition of eKal Solutions, a UK-based Oracle Fusion consultancy.

Investor at BGF MJ Murphy said Redfaire’s management team's “appetite for growth is clear to see, and the real opportunity now is to further scale the business internationally, both organically and through acquisitions”.

“We look forward to supporting the team with capital, strategic guidance and access to our value creation platform as they enter this next phase.”

As part of the transaction, Redfaire is appointing Glenn Timms as non-executive chair of the company through the BGF Talent Network. Mr Timms is a former PwC corporate finance partner.

According to its latest financial statement, in 2024, Redfaire generated a turnover of just under €29m — up from €26.8m the year prior. Its profit for the financial year stood at €2.3m — up from €843,878 in 2023.

Since 2011, BGF has invested more than €5bn in 650 small and mid-sized businesses, generating €4.3bn in proceeds across more than 280 exits. Its initial investments in growth-stage business are typically between €5m and €30m and between €3m and €12m for earlier-stage businesses.

In Ireland, BGF is backed by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, Bank of Ireland and AIB. BGF said it had €250m available to invest in Irish small and medium sized businesses.

Late last year, BGF invested €6m in Cork-headquartered cleanroom firm ClearSphere.

Based in Carrigaline, ClearSphere has provided cleanroom and containment solutions across the pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, and industrial sectors over the past 35 years.
