Financial advisory firm SYS Financial has announced the acquisition of Cork firm ODM Financial Advisers, which the firm says will increase its assets under management to more than €900m.
This marks SYS Financial’s third acquisition in Cork within the past year, further expanding its presence in the region.
According to the firm, this acquisition will see its client assets under management increase by €120m, bringing the firm’s current client AUM to more than €900m.
ODM Financial Advisers was founded in 2016 and is based in Bandon, Co Cork. As part of the acquisition, the firm’s directors Dan Murphy and Kieran Hurley will join SYS Financial.
ODM’s team will continue to serve clients locally as part of the wider SYS Financial network.
Chief executive of SYS Financial Tony Delaney said the acquisition marked an “important step in growing our presence in Cork and the wider Munster region”.
“It represents our third acquisition in Cork within the past year, underlining the region’s importance to our growth strategy. ODM Financial Advisers has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, client-focused advice, and we are delighted to welcome Dan Murphy and Kieran Hurley to SYS Financial.”
Mr Hurley said joining SYS Financial was a “very positive step for our clients and team”.
“This move allows us to build on the strong relationships we’ve developed, while enhancing the breadth of expertise and support available to our clients.”
Mr Murphy said: “We have always placed our clients at the centre of everything we do, and becoming part of a larger organisation allows us to enhance our offering while continuing to deliver the personalised advice and service our clients expect".
SYS Financial was founded in 2015. It has offices in Nenagh in Tipperary, Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
Last month, SYS Financial completed a series of acquisitions in Cork, Waterford, and Wicklow, adding €130m to the firm's assets under management.
The Nenagh-headquartered firm has acquired BMC Financial Planning, headquartered in Charleville in Co Cork; Billy Phelan Financial Services, founded in Waterford, and the book of business of Brendan Toolan financial planning in Wicklow.
In January, the company acquired Portlaise financial planning practice GTL Life and Pensions. In 2025, the company also acquired Cork-based advisory firms, Qifa Financial Partners and Global Life as well as Wicklow-based Efficient Financial.
The company's workforce has passed 70, and last September it opened a new Cork office at Westpoint Business Park in Ballincollig.
SYS Financial is targeting €1.3bn by the end of the second quarter of 2026 through further acquisitions.
