Deal is believed to be worth around €2m annually

Amid the celebrations sparked by Troy Parrott's late late winning goal for Ireland against Hungary in Budapest, there were surely even more cause for satisfaction in the offices of Sky on Burlington Road in Dublin.

In 2024, the communications giant added sponsorship of Ireland's men's football team to its existing backing of the Republic of Ireland women's team.
