Cork-headquartered legal and tax firm Orbitus to double workforce with new HR offering

Jennifer O’Brien has been appointed as head of the new HR division within legal and tax advisory firm Orbitus.

Cork-headquartered legal and tax advisory firm Orbitus said it will double its workforce as the company expands with a new HR advisory to join its legal and tax services.

The expansion comes as part of the firm's ambitious growth strategy, with the new division being headed by HR specialist Jennifer O'Brien.

The new HR services will include strategic workforce planning, compliance with employment legislation, policy development, recruitment processes, employee engagement, training, and organisational culture.

The firm opened its headquarters in Cork in October 2022 and began operations in September 2023 with just four employees in their Tralee office. Since then, the company has grown to a team of 32 and continues to expand.

Recruitment is currently underway for 15 additional positions across technology, customer experience, and tax. Over the next 12 to 24 months, Orbitus expects to more than double its workforce, with opportunities offered in both remote and hybrid positions. To support this growth, the firm announced it has recently relocated to a larger office in Tralee.

Benjamin Hardy of Orbitus said the establishment of the HR division reflects growing demand for joined-up advisory services.

“HR challenges often overlap with legal and tax considerations, and by establishing this division, we are strengthening our ability to support organisations in managing their people effectively while ensuring compliance and good governance," said Mr Hardy.

"Our move to a new state-of-the-art office in Tralee reflects the pace of our growth over the past year.

"This investment in our people and our infrastructure underpins our long-term strategy to grow the business in Tralee and Cork, and to strengthen our presence nationally”.

Jennifer O’Brien, Head of HR at Orbitus, said, “Irish employers are navigating a complex and fast-evolving HR landscape. From talent shortages and hybrid working models to growing compliance demands and rising employee expectations, there is significant pressure on organisations to adapt quickly and strategically.

"Our aim at Orbitus is to provide practical, joined-up guidance that aligns people strategy with business goals, enabling our clients to not only meet today’s challenges but to thrive in the future of work”.
