New barrister service aims to help people reduce legal costs

Peter Shanley, senior counsel and founder of Barristers Direct.

Members of the public and businesses can directly engage an experienced barrister for legal advice thanks to an innovative new service.

The BarristersDirect.ie service breaks the traditional model, which required a solicitor to be retained before a barrister could be instructed. In many cases, where formal legal proceedings do not need to be issued, the service will lead to reduced costs by engaging one legal professional instead of two.
