The Government has announced details of €5.3m in funding to stimulate economic development in rural towns.

The Government has announced details of €5.3m in funding to stimulate economic development in rural towns.

Under the initiative - money is being approved to 41 projects nationwide.

Some €1.9m is going to projects in the North and Western Region, €1.3m to the Southern Region and €2.1m for initiatives in the East and Midlands.

Minister Heather Humphreys says it aims to boost economic activity and improve living standards across rural Ireland.
