First-time buyer couples spend 21% of their income after taxes on their mortgage repayments, according to an EBS DKM survey on the affordability of buying a home in Ireland.

It shows that the least affordable area to buy a house is Dublin's Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, while Co Roscommon is the most affordable area to purchase a home.
