Online trading firm IG Global has expanded into new offices in Dublin, and said the new space in World Rugby House on Dublin’s Pembroke Street Lower provides capacity for up to 25 staff.

Online trading firm IG Global has expanded into new offices in Dublin, and said the new space in World Rugby House on Dublin’s Pembroke Street Lower provides capacity for up to 25 staff.

IG currently employs six people in Ireland, and provides access to over 10,000 financial markets including shares, indices, forex, commodities and binaries.

At the opening of the company's new offices, Trade Minister Charlie Flanagan said: "The IG Group, one of the UK’s top 200 firms listed on both the London Stock Exchange and the FTSE 250, is a globally successful company with offices in 17 countries – I am delighted that Ireland is among that elite group."

Newly appointed CEO of IG Group Peter Hetherington said demand for online trading in Ireland continued to grow year on year.

He added the company was adding new products this year including a Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) for retirement-planning. IG will also launch an investment offering in partnership with Blackrock comprising of a selection of ETF-based investment portfolios.

IG says it has about 50% of the market in online trading, up from about 20% in late 2012, defining the market as retail investors and traders of derivatives.
