Accenture to create 200 jobs with new research facility in Dublin

A global consulting and technology firm is to hire 200 staff as it sets up a new innovation centre in Ireland.

Accenture is to open the research facility in Dublin as part of a €25m investment to expand its expertise in cognitive computing, Internet of Things, advanced analytics, security and digital marketing.

Dublin will be part of the company’s global network of technology labs including San Jose, California, Washington DC, Sophia Antipolis in France, Beijing and the Indian city of Bangalore.

The investment is backed by IDA Ireland.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “Since we entered office, the Government has prioritised new initiatives to support emerging technologies through the establishment of new research and technology centres and expert taskforces.

“Supporting both domestic and multinational enterprises to expand into dynamic new sectors is a key part of the Government’s plan to rebuild a sustainable economy which can support full employment.”

Speaking on the job announcement and investment plans Jo Deblaere, Accenture’s European chief operating officer and chief executive praised Ireland’s highly skilled workforce.

“Ireland has become a technology hub in Europe and is a rich source of highly skilled talent in science, technology and engineering. Given this, Dublin is the perfect location for our new Centre for Innovation,” said Deblaere.

Meanwhile, Morgan McKinley is hiring 80 people across its offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford.

The jobs will range from junior to senior consultant positions and the company is to begin recruiting immediately.
