Volkswagen recalls 500,000 cars over pollution-disguise device

Volkswagen has been ordered to recall half a million cars in the US because of a device that disguises pollution levels.

The "defeat device" allows VW and Audi vehicles to pass lab testing even though they actually emit 40 times the emissions standard.
