More than 100 agri-firms get deal to export meat to Philippines

The Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney has welcomed a deal which will allow Irish beef, pigmeat and sheepmeat to be exported to the Philippines.

A total of 111 Irish firms have been granted accreditation, with the deal due to run until August 23, 2015.

Mr Coveney says it is "vital that Irish companies have access to as many markets worldwide as possible".

He says the new access to a "key market" in South East Asia will benefit our producers.
