The number of jobs being advertised online in the first three months of 2014 has increased by 5% on the same time last year.

Online jobs firm reports increase in recruitment to tourism and construction

The number of jobs being advertised online in the first three months of 2014 has increased by 5% on the same time last year.

IrishJobs.ie reports a 2% rise on the previous quarter, and the fourth quarter showing growth.

The greatest increases are seen in the tourism and engineering sectors, up 17%; construction, architecture and property, up 16%; and production and manufacturing, up 11%.

Other areas which saw a rise are accountancy and finance, as well as science, pharmaceuticals and food.

Sectors which saw a decrease in jobs advertised are customer service and call centres, down 13%, and retailing and wholesaling, down 10%.
