Don't be vague, career advisors tell jobseekers as expo highlights 1,500 jobs
Defining your skillset and setting your sights on a particular career goal is key to being placed in the right job, says a leading career coach attending today's Jobs Expo at Croke Park in Dublin.
Companies from all over the world will be back hoping to place staff in more than 1,500 roles including construction, IT, software and engineering sectors.
Coach with the Career Clinic Paula Coogan said the recession has meant that many people have either settled in for jobs that are not suited to them.
"A lot of people are saying they're looking for a job. We ask what they're looking for, and far too many people say 'I'm looking for anything. If you hear of anything, let me know'.
"Our main advice to people is don't be vague about what you're looking for, because it's very difficult then to match you up with anything."
