110 jobs lost at Ulster Bank centres
Ulster Bank is planning to axe around 80 jobs at its mortgages centre in Sandyford in Dublin - and a further 30 from its Belfast offices.
The move is part of plans from Royal Bank of Scotland, its parent group, to outsource work to Scotland and Poland.
The Irish Bank Officials Association is asking Ulster Bank not to make any decisions on the workers' future, until the group has carried a major forthcoming review.
"This is a very, very disappointing announcement for staff in recoveries," said Larry Broderick of the IBOA.
"IBOA has called on the bank to review this decision in light of the major review of RBS, and it highlights our concern - and the concern of members- that there is a plan afoot to massively restructure Ulster Bank, with huge potential impact on staff and on customers."
