170 jobs are under threat at a call centre in Cork City.

Assurant Solutions last night summoned staff to a meeting and informed them it is conducting a review of its Irish operations.

The company, which has been based in Cork since 1999, says the review follows its acquisition of UK-based Lifestyle Services in October.
