BMW increases proft by 9% in second quarter

German luxury car maker BMW says it overcame tough markets in Europe and posted a 9% increase in net profit in the second quarter.

Profits rose to €1.39bn from €1.28bn in the same quarter a year ago, as revenue swelled 1.8% to €19.5bn.
