SBP examinership period extended

The High Court has agreed to extend the period of examinership for insolvent newspaper The Sunday Business Post to 100 days.

Nine redundancies, wage and rent reductions along with cuts to printing expenses are part of a €1.8m cost saving plan for Post Publications.

Lawyers for Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton say difficult commercial negotiations with potential investors are ongoing but the examiner still believes the company can be saved.
