Motorola Mobility has announced plans to shut down nearly a third of its offices worldwide.

The mobile phone maker, which was bought by Google for $12.5bn (€15.94bn) last year - plans to slash 20% of the workforce, with a third of jobs being lost in the US.

The company says that it plans to cut its range of cheaper phones and focus on making only a few models.
