Tullamore Dew to revamp visitor centre

The Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre is to be redeveloped with the aim of doubling annual visitor numbers to 40,000, it was announced today.

Located in the Offaly town after which the whiskey is named, and centred around what was once a bonded warehouse for Tullamore Dew, the redeveloped centre will open in the summer.

“The redevelopment of our Visitor Centre into a premium tourist destination for Tullamore and the Midlands will attract visitors from around the world,” ”said Tullamore Dew Global Brand Director, Shane Hoyne.

Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey is owned by Scottish distillers William Grant & Sons, which acquired the brand in 2010.

It is currently the second largest Irish whiskey brand in the world, selling more than 8.5m bottles annually.
