UK inflation rate eases

The British Consumer Prices Index (CPI) measure of inflation fell to 3.6% in January from 4.2% in December, official figures showed today.

The headline rate of Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation fell to 3.9% in January from 4.8% in December, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
