Receiver appointed to Athlone Hotel and Ballinasloe nightclub

Ulster Bank has appointed a receiver to two assets of Galway-based Earls Holdings - the Radisson BLU Hotel Athlone and East nightclub in Ballinasloe.

No other Radisson BLU hotels have been affected by this announcement.

Both businesses will continue to trade throughout the receivership process. The jobs of the 89 full-time and part-time hotel employees or the 15 full-time and part-time nightclub employees are unaffected.

All customer bookings, deposits and vouchers will be honoured. The receiver - Kieran Wallace of KPMG - said he was confident the process of receivership would enable both businesses to continue to trade successfully.

Earls Holdings Ltd operates the hotel under the Radisson BLU franchise. Earls Holdings Ltd does not own any other Radisson BLU franchises in Ireland.
