Media-ownership conference taking place in Dublin

Media owners, politicians and journalists are due to speak in Dublin this morning at a major conference about media ownership.

The National Conference on Media Diversity will explore the impact of media empires on democracy and the independence of journalists.

The event was organised by Labour MEP Nessa Childers, who said she invited media owners and journalists to the conference to encourage "heated discussion" about the issue.
