Hungarian airline Malev said today that it does not have the money to keep going.

Hungarian airline Malev said today that it does not have the money to keep going.

The carrier employs 2,600 people and flies a service between Dublin and Budapest.

The news came just hours after the government there took steps to restructure the loss-making carrier.

The announcement follows a European Commission ruling early this month, that forced the carrier to repay State aid worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

It comes just a day after Spain's fourth-largest airline, Spanair, collapse.
