EU bans pre-ticked boxes on sites

New consumer rights protection approved today includes a Europe-wide ban on “pre-ticked” boxes on websites.

Proposals approved by ministers meeting in Luxembourg remove the requirement on consumers to “untick” boxes to avoid extra services when shopping online.
