US urges Europe to end in-fighting over Greece

The United States has urged Europe to end potentially "catastrophic" in-fighting that is delaying a new rescue plan for Greece.

EU Finance Ministers are meeting in Poland, with the US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner also in attendance.

Earlier, he urged eurozone leaders to bolster an overall rescue fund for Greece or risk the debt crisis spreading beyond Europe.

But the head of the eurozone, Jean-Claude Juncker, was quick to play down Geithner's contribution, saying it was merely dialogue among friends rather than a decision-making meeting.
