LinkedIn expansion welcomed

ICT Ireland, the IBEC group that represents the high-tech sector, today welcomed the announcement of 100 new jobs at LinkedIn’s international headquarters in Dublin.

"Today’s announcement underpins Ireland’s strength in attracting significant foreign investment in the technology sector," ICT Ireland director Paul Sweetman said.

"The new jobs highlight the diversity of careers available in the high-tech sector, from marketing and sales to HR and finance.

"The technology sector is continuing to create jobs, with over 1,050 new positions now announced in 2011. The new Government has committed to a number of measures in education, eGovernment and tax to enhance the competitiveness of the sector. It is vital that these measures are implemented.”
