EU survey: Ireland second in consumer conditions index
The Republic of Ireland now has the second best consumer conditions in the European Union.
The EU Consumer scoreboard index measures factors such as the effectiveness of resolving disputes, handling complaints as well as trust in authorities, retailers, advertisers and consumer organisations.
Caroline Curneen, a spokesperson for the European Consumer Centre office in Dublin, said Irish consumers are becoming more and more aware of their rights as legislation and rules continue to improve.
