Cost savings boost Heineken profits

Brewing giant Heineken today reported strong growth in operating profits from its western European business despite a decline in the beer market.

Heineken said the group’s western European arm reported a 3.6% decline in volumes in 2010, while operating profits were up 14% to €904m.
