Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest have been fined $2.8m for "multiple failings" over the way they handled customer complaints, the Financial Services Authority in the UK have said today.

The Financial Services Authority said the part-nationalised bank responded inadequately to more than half of all the complaints it reviewed.
