ISME is reporting that businesses are suffering from an unacceptable delay in payments by large organisations and state agencies.

The group's "credit watch" report for this year says that, while there is a minor improvement on last year's record of payments, average payment periods in Ireland for small and medium enterprises is 72 days, from 73 days last year.
