A cable company in Longford has gone into receivership.

Staff at B3 Cables were called to a meeting this evening and informed of the news.

The company employs 110 people in Longford town.

Employees have been working reduced hours in recent months, as the company struggled financially.

The firm - which makes copper and optical fibre cable - has offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
