Sterling rallies against euro

Sterling has strengthened to its highest level against the euro since November 2008, hitting 81.2 pence against the single currency overnight.

The pound has been rallying on the back of a well-received emergency budget in the UK, providing much-needed breathing room for Irish exporters.
