Oireachtas committee to discuss business regulations

The cost and impact of regulations on business is being discussed at a meeting later today of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Economic Regulatory Affairs.

Many small and medium businesses claim the burden of regulation, red tape and administrative bureacracy has gone too far.

In 2007, it was estimated that red tape was costing Irish businesses and the economy up to €500m euro a year, which was affecting our competitiveness.
