Irish consumers are saving nearly four times as much now as they did at the height of the economic boom.

Irish consumers are saving nearly four times as much now as they did at the height of the economic boom.

People put away 11% of their income last year, compared to just 3% in 2007, according to figures from the UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
