RBS posts third-quarter losses
The UK's part-nationalised Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) posted third-quarter losses of £1.53bn (€1.7bn) today despite slim signs of improvement at the beleaguered business.
The operating loss was below second-quarter losses of £3.53bn (€3.94bn). Bad debts remained high at £3.28bn (€3.66bn) but around 30% below the April-June period, the bank said.
