UK business failures lowest for almost a year

There were glimmers of light at the end of the tunnel for struggling UK firms today after figures showed business failure rates at their lowest level for almost a year.

Credit checking agency Experian said 0.09% of UK businesses failed in August - down from the 0.11% recorded in July.
