UK inflation down to 1.8%

The British Consumer Prices Index (CPI) fell to 1.8% in June from 2.2% in May, official figures showed today.

The headline rate of Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation, which includes mortgage interest payments, fell to minus 1.6% in June from minus 1.1% in May, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
