ISEQ up almost 4%

The ISEQ index shot up by more than 100 points today, finishing 102.33 points higher at 2,746.19.

The financials all did well. Despite announcing a loss, assurances that further recapitalisation was not needed and nationalisation was not on the cards saw Bank of Ireland shares up 26c to €1.34. Irish Life & Permanent also did very well, up 20c to €3. Allied Irish Bank gained 8c to €1.16.
