Fears for 1,000 jobs at Eircom

Over 1,000 jobs could go at Eircom over the next 18 months as part of cost-cutting measures, according to reports.

It is being reported that the telecoms groups needs to shed jobs from its 7,000-strong workforce in a bid to achieve savings of about €130m a year.
