ISEQ up in early trading
The ISEQ index of Irish shares began the week strongly, rising 43.15 points to 2,462.65 by 11.30am this morning.
Notable risers included Tullow Oil, up 74c to 7.31; CRH, up 37c to 18.77; Elan Corp, up 30c to 4.83, and Glanbia, rising 10c to 2.17.
Grafton Group and Smurfit Kappa both cheered 12c, to 2.39 and 1.91 respectively.
Among the financials, Anglo Irish Bank climbed 2c to 0.21 and Irish Life & Permanent was up 6c to 1.66, but AIB shed 3c to 1.68.
Fallers included Kerry Group, down 8c to 13.12, and Kingspan PLC, slipping 3c to 3.20.
Shares in Waterford Wedgewood were suspended earlier in the day following the company's appointment of a receiver to its Irish operations.
